Trusting God when Health and Life Hurts

TiffanyCEverett Faith

Who do I trust when health and life hurts? Who do I turn to? Where can I run? All these questions I have asked myself and I have only found one answer and that is to God. God is my source of refuge. When I have any thing happening in life, its to him I turn to.

It has been about a month that I have been experiencing a heart rate that exceeds 140bpm. If you are not sure what that is, welcome to the club because I always focused on my blood pressure but there is another number you will see and it tell you how fast your heart/pulse is traveling. When your heart rate is too fast, it’s called tachycardia. For adults, a fast heart rate is generally defined as a heart rate over 100 beats per minute. When your heart rate is too slow, it’s referred to as bradycardia. Bradycardia is the opposite. Its is when a heart rate beats less than 60 beats per minute. There are many causes for each and at this time its inconclusive as to what is spoking mine but I remain focused and trusting God for answers as I continue to seek professionals whom I know God will touch and give wisdom and direction as to situation.

During this time I have prayed, and prayed and prayed and studies Gods word and just continue to keep my focus on Him, knowing that this is a season for me to get prepared for the Good works God has planned for me. If we desire to be used by God we have to go through trials, storms, and tribulations. You will days that are amazing then you will have days that seem dark. As I was reading Acts Paul and Barnabus as they preached the gospel in Antioch strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith said ,”We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.” This is a time to pray, this is a time to study, this is a time to surrender everything over to the Lord and Trust God.

So this is my season, and you may have yours right now too, or perhaps you are getting ready to go through your season or coming out of yours. One thing that remains true through it all is that God will never leave or forsake us . He will bless you with the wisdom, knowledge, courage, finances, and even put certain people in your life to help you through it. The people you thought would be there may or may not be available. They may not even call you to check on you. You probably will not hear from them until they need you. But, don’t be disappointed at man because we are all flawed. We have all fallen short of the glory of God – Romans 3:23. Rest assured God is always right on time and he will work it out. This is our season of preparation. But how do you trust God?

Be Still

Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Psalm 37:7

I have that when Im so busy doing things for myself or everyone else and thinking I can stay up all night and work on projects, get very little sleep then do the same thing again the next day. Being caught up in the world never slowing down and spinning my wheels daily only aggravates your health. At some point the body needs rest, and we need to be able to get to a place where we can be still before the Lord so we can hear what direction he wants us to go.

Pray

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27

Daily praying to the Lord even if its a silent inner voice prayer helps you find peace. You can listen to the Lord’s guidance. But if it’s always noisy and you’re always talking then how can you hear? Once time is spent, you will become stronger. You will become more knowledgeable about what Gods principles are and how to defeat the enemy through his sword of the spirit. then stand up and release it to the Lord knowing he will take care of you.

Believe

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Jesus died on the cross for you and me. This is very important when it comes to accepting Christ. Jesus bore our sins that day on Calvary and died to bring us closer to God. In fact there was a time that the people had to go through a person in order to relay messages to God. But on the day Jesus Died, a veil was torn and we were given full access to be able to go to God directly. Him dying also reveals God’s character and shows how much he loves us all.

So tell me, what ways do you use to trust God?
