Are you anxious about the vote this evening then this message is for you. This year has been an interesting journey.
As we await the tally of the vote I know that many of us are probably feeling some type of anxiety as we await. So I wanted to tackle this subject of anxiety, and hope this evening.
What is anxiety:distress or uneasiness of mind caused by fear of danger or misfortune:
He felt anxiety about the possible loss of his job.
earnest but tense desire; eagerness:
He had a keen anxiety to succeed in his work.
Psychiatry. a state of apprehension and psychic tension occurring in some forms of mental disorder.
We call it butter flies, or aprehension, heebie jeebies, col sweats , shakes
So I wanted to jump into the scriptures this evening and do some research on this topic of anxiety.
The mayo clinic says Experiencing occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. However, people with anxiety disorders frequently have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. When I went to the scriptures Jesus says
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Instead of being consumed by worry over the next few weeks (or months) make your life about serving God. When we take our minds off our own personal situation to help others it helps us to redirect that energy in a positive way making zero room for ourselves to worry because we are too busy praying and helping others.
Yes, Jesus is saying to us that what the focus of our lives should be right now, probably more than ever is to serve God with all of who we are.
How can you serve? What gifts do you have that you can use to serve the Lord?
And His promise is true, put God first in every way you know how to and all your needs will be met.You can put him first by serving him as soon as you walk up in the morning, Give God the praise. When ou are driving in your car, thank him for getting you to your destination safe. As you await the results of the voting, Focus on the scriptures, As the Lord that what ever th outcome that he makes a way for you and your family. Gives you an idea that will catapult your future, gives you knowledge that will help you to become increase your finances. Ask the Lord to direct your path so that you can be a great Stewart.
10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.This means that in all your endeavors in everything you do the Lord will be right there with you. Trust him. And He will lead you. Put your worries in his hand and he will take care of them for you.
I know I have my days when I have these feelings especially when I go live you have no idea and Ialways pray before I go live as well. It helps me and my son often says mom you do this all the time, I don’t understand why you feel this way.

Dear God, help me wait well. Help me know what to do and when to do it. Then, help me do the holy work of rest, even when I would rather work and worry.
